Add diacritics to Arabic text
Paste undiacritized Arabic and we add the word-internal harakat automatically.
Everything runs in your browser — your text is never sent to a server. The model downloads once, on first use. Automatic diacritization does get things wrong, particularly on word endings, so read it before relying on it.
How the automatic tashkeel works
We use a lexicon of about 17,000 vocalised words derived from the Quranic text, which is fully diacritized. We add the vowels inside each word and leave the final vowel (i‘rab), which depends on the word’s grammatical role in the sentence.

What are harakat?
Fatha, damma, kasra, sukun, shadda and tanwin — small marks above or below a letter that fix its pronunciation.
Why are some words left unvocalised?
They are not in the lexicon: coverage is stronger on classical and religious vocabulary than on modern words.
Why is the last letter not vocalised?
That is i‘rab, and it depends on sentence syntax. Guessing it would often be wrong, so we leave it out.
